Born in 1941, Wepper began his acting career in the 1960s. He quickly became a household name in Germany and beyond, appearing in numerous films and television shows. His breakthrough came with the role of Detective Harry Klein in the long-running police drama "Derrick," which aired from 1974 to 1998.
Wepper's international fame was further solidified by his performance as the Master of Ceremonies in the Oscar-winning film "Cabaret" (1972). He received a Golden Globe nomination for his role, alongside Joel Grey and Michael York.
In addition to his wife, Susanne, Wepper is survived by his daughter, Filippa. The family has requested privacy during this difficult time.
