Media: Meta's llama 2 language model in the spotlights
Big language models are becoming increasingly popular, and Meta's llama 2 is no exception
On Tuesday, Meta announced llama 2, a new version of its large language model (LLM). LLMs are computer programs that can understand and generate human language. They have a wide range of applications, including natural language processing, machine translation, and question answering.
Meta says that llama 2 is the largest LLM it has ever created. It has 65 billion parameters, which is more than twice as many as its predecessor, llama 1. Llama 2 was trained on a dataset of 1.4 trillion words, which is also much larger than the dataset used to train llama 1.
According to Meta, llama 2 outperforms llama 1 on a variety of tasks, including natural language processing, machine translation, and question answering. It also achieves state-of-the-art results on several benchmarks. Meta is making llama 2 available to researchers and developers through its AI platform.
