Suns Return: Media Availability with Budenholzer, Booker, and Jones
Suns Excited to Start Training
The Phoenix Suns welcomed members of the media to their practice on October 22, 2024, to discuss their preparations for the upcoming season. Head coach Mike Budenholzer, shooting guard Devin Booker, and point guard Tyus Jones all spoke to the media about their excitement for the upcoming season and their expectations for the team.
Players and Coach Share Plans for Upcoming Season
Budenholzer is entering his second season as head coach of the Suns and is confident the team will continue to improve. "We have a group of talented players who are all putting in the work, said Budenholzer. "We're excited to get started and see what we can accomplish together." Booker echoed Budenholzer's sentiments, saying, "We have a lot of potential as a team and we're all working hard to reach it." Booker is coming off a season in which he averaged 26.8 points per game and was named to his third All-Star team. He is expected to be one of the leaders of the Suns this season. Jones, who was acquired by the Suns in a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies this offseason, said he is excited to join a team with such high expectations. "I'm looking forward to learning from Coach Bud and the other players on the team," said Jones. "I think I can bring a lot to this team and I'm excited to get started."
Suns Look to Improve on Last Season's Success
The Suns finished with a 42-40 record last season and lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Dallas Mavericks. They are hoping to improve on that record this season and make a deeper run into the playoffs. "We have the talent and the experience to be a contender," said Booker "We just need to put it all together." The Suns will open their regular season on October 24, 2024, against the Golden State Warriors. They will play their home opener on October 26, 2024, against the Sacramento Kings.
